THIS THURSDAY!!!
UPCOMING ART OPENING:
CULTURAL ARTIFACTS: CURATED BY JESSICA WALLEN

Objects in art are historically part of the whole picture, so to speak, used to clue the viewer into context. The item's only function, then, becomes assisting the narrative. What happens when you take the object out of context and examine it on its own? Does it become merely decorative? Or can modern images of objects, depicted by local, emerging talent, hold enough currency on their own to give a feeling of time, place and culture? We will explore this at Fivepoints Arthouse during the February exhibit: Cultural Artifacts, featuring new work by Lee Harvey Roswell Weston Teruya, Marin Camille Hood and Ross Campbell, among others.
Opening reception Thursday, February 4th 7-11pm
On display through Feb 27th
Curated by Jessica Wallen
Wallen Works offers curatorial services, artist management, artist representation, and art event coordination. Jessica Wallen is an independent curator living and working in San Francisco. She is interested in providing support and exposure for emerging local artists who create original, thought-provoking work.
